Have you ever met anyone who was very pretty as a child, but turned out to be ugly when they grew up?
I have.
Two people. Two girls.
One was a very attractive and ladylike 12 year old who I thought was destined to be a movie star. Well, sort of saying, since she used to say she wanted to be a journalist or a flight-attendant, and it’s not easy to have a career in the Arts…
But to my surprise, her attractiveness started to fade away when she became a teenager, and she was completely plain from her late teens onwards… (It is even more surprising that she wore more ladylike accessories at age 12 than when she was actually grown up…)
Also, my sister-in-law’s niece was adorable when I first knew her, at age 8.
She looked like a real doll, and I was convinced that she was probably going to become more beautiful as she grew older.
She turns 18 in October, and surprisingly enough, she seems to have lost all her looks, ever since she became a teenager…
So, it seems there aren’t only stories of ugly ducklings who turn into swans.
There are also the opposite…
